1. Submission Rules:
The rules for submitting a manuscript draft to the journal can be found at the following link: submit an article.
  2. Review Process:
Manuscripts are reviewed within 3-4 weeks (sometimes less) after they are recorded by the editorial board.
  3. Reviewers:
Typically, the reviewers for scientific articles are selected from the editorial board or its permanent members. In some cases, articles may also be sent to well-known specialists in the field of archaeology.
  4. Designation of Reviewers:
The decision to assign a reviewer to the article is made by the editor-in-chief or their deputy.
  5. Submission of Manuscripts:
The manuscript (without the authors' names and affiliation) is sent to the reviewers by the editorial staff, either through a special letter or via the journal’s website.
  6. Negative Review:
If the review is negative, the authors will receive a rejection notice within 10 (ten) days. In this case, the identity of the reviewer is not disclosed, in accordance with ethical rules.
  7. Revisions:
If revisions are required, authors are given 1-2 months (no more than 3 months) to make changes to the article. During this period, the authors will receive a letter outlining the necessary modifications. Once changes are made, the revised version is sent back to the reviewer for re-assessment.
  8. Failure to Make Revisions:
If the authors refuse to make changes or do not send the revised article within 3 months, the article will be excluded from the publication list. In such cases, the editorial board will send a letter to the authors informing them of the removal from the register. Manuscripts sent to the editorial office will not be returned.
  9. Disagreement with Reviewer's Conclusion:
If the authors do not agree with the reviewer's conclusion, upon their request, the article may be re-sent to another reviewer or group of reviewers for a final expert opinion. In such cases, all expert opinions are discussed at a meeting of the editorial board, and the final editorial decision is communicated to the authors within 10 (ten) working days after the meeting.
  10. Additional Review Period:
If the article does not pass the revision process even after changes have been made, the authors may be given an additional period of up to 2 months for re-review. If the expert’s opinion is negative for the third time, the article will not be revised, and the authors will receive a rejection letter within 10 (ten) days.
  11. Publication of Accepted Articles:
Articles that receive a positive review and are approved by the editorial board will be published in the upcoming issues of the journal (within 1-2 months). The editorial board will notify the authors of the publication.
